Holon Stack reads every active course you teach, pulls every submission that is still waiting on you, and puts them on one page with the grade, rubric and comment controls right next to the work.
How it works
- The Stack — the left column lists every assignment with ungraded work, grouped by course, oldest first. Click one and the right side becomes your grading desk.
- Student strip — every waiting submission for that assignment. Click a chip to jump; Save & Next moves you along automatically.
- The work — text entries render inline, files preview inline (PDF, images) or open in a new tab, links open in a new tab, discussion posts are pulled in, media comments play.
- Rubric — if the assignment has a rubric it appears beside the work. Click a rating or type points per criterion; if the rubric is used for grading the total fills the grade for you.
- Grade + comment — points, percent, letter, GPA or complete/incomplete, matching the assignment. Comments are posted as you, not as a service account.
- Resubmitted — a student who resubmits after you graded shows up again, flagged, with the earlier grade visible.
- Quizzes needing review — essay questions and similar are graded in Canvas; Stack lists them and gives you the SpeedGrader link.
What it does not do
- Anonymous or moderated-grading assignments are listed but open in SpeedGrader (Canvas hides identities there by design).
- It does not change due dates, publish, or edit assignments — Holon Dates and Holon Publish do that.
